В начале был Некто. И всюду было ничего, одно лишь пустое пространство. Тогда простёр Некто длань свою перед собой, и сдул с неё подобие пыли. Взметнувшись вперёд и немного вверх, частицы начали медленно оседать. Одни зажглись вдруг, как искры, и устремились снова куда-то вверх; к Тому, кто их породил. Другие, перестав падать в небытие, начали наслаиваться друг на друга, пока каждая из них не превратилась в неторопливо вращающийся вокруг своей оси шар.

Первые частички разгорались всё сильней, постепенно увеличиваясь в размере, и благодаря их общим усилиям вокруг них рассеялась тьма. Так появился свет.

Вторым не дано было излучать во тьму, но их собственные недра грели их изнутри, чтобы шары эти не остыли в пространстве совсем, а старшие их собратья грели тех снаружи. Так появились звёзды и планеты.

И узрел Некто, что прекрасны создания его, и ликовало его сердце.

Тогда выбрал Некто из триллионов искр самую красивую и подвинул к ней наилучшую из своих сфер. И задумался вдруг, и отошёл ко сну.

От касания Творца шар немного наклонило, но вращаться он не перестал. Позднее это явление назовут сменой времён года, но до этого ещё очень далеко.

Восстав ото сна, Некто обдал паром от своего дыхания свой самый любимый шар, и вот, отныне он преисполнен влаги. Гигантский океан, колыбель всей жизни.

Но бушевали недра шара изнутри, и низвергнулась на поверхность твердь, проступив вначале ровной прямоугольной фигурой. И вступили в схватку земля и вода, и образовались горы и долины.

И бывало так, что светило дневное не поспевало обогреть шар равномерно. Так появились времена года, а имена им — зима, весна, лето и осень.

Чихнул вдруг Некто нечаянно, и откололся тут от шара небольшой кусочек. Захотел тогда Некто стряхнуть его в небытие, но сжалился, ибо не губить, но творить предпочитал. И зажёг сей круглый камень от Солнца, как свечку от свечки, и повелел светить ночью, чтобы всем будущим зверятам не было так страшно бродить по ночам. Так засияла Луна.

Сорвал Некто волос с главы своей и осторожно воткнул в шар. Оно стало первым растением на земле; первым и самым большим деревом, и прекрасны были его плоды на вкус.

Но безжизненна была твердь, и окунул Некто ладони свои в океан. Зашевелилось тогда что-то там, внутри. Сотни миллионов крохотных живых существ начали кружиться в подобии танца, и стал преобладать кислород.

От дерева того произошли все остальные, самые разные растения и в воде и на земле. И краше стала суша; краше, чем прежде.

И витал в воздухе дух Некто, названный впоследствии ветром. И разносил он по всему шару семена растений, и помогали ветру в этом, опыляя цветки, жужжалки и журчалки, орнитоптеры и гигантские мотыли, уркеры и феи-крылатки, дизели и шмелевидки. И множилась флора на земле в изобилии своём. И начали цвести и плодоносить вкусладцы, пузисы, корневика, малина, розы, сирень, фиалки, фруктис, нарциссы, ламинарии, богдары, кувшинки, кислики и другие, не менее прекрасные растения. Высились ивы и берёзы, дубы и буки, ели и сосны, каштаны и ароматы, гинкго и юкка, пальмы кокко и пальмы фениг, осины и ясени, хляи и эрзы. И как же приятен был весь этот запах, насколько всё благоухало!

Спустились тогда помощники Его, дабы создать более крупных животных, а также себе подобных; тех, кто бы присматривал за всеми созданиями на земле.

Из всех новых живых творений первыми в тот край прибыли светлые эльваны, прекрасные, как сама жизнь; Ланни — их королевство. Дивен и величествен был их облик, и ныне никто не уподобился им в красоте и благородстве. Эльваны любили природу, любили петь и прославлять тех, кто их создал; тех, чьи имена уже давно позабыты. А изобрели эльваны посудины для переправы через водные преграды, верёвку, лук и стрелы. Но не для войны предназначались вначале лук и стрелы, но для игры «попади в точку», чтобы развивать остроту зрения. Не для войны, ибо много позже обагриться кровью земля...

Эльванам были родственны фэйри, имевшие крылья за спиной и рост около одного дюйма. То были феи, покровители всех добрых существ, дарители надежды и тепла.

Великий океан породил элементали воды, которые как маленький шквал появлялись почти ниоткуда, дабы утолить жажду либо просто освежиться.

Святой дух породил эфириалы — невидимые потоки, несущие исцеление всем тем, кто этого достоин.

Над горами и долами, часто ненадолго взмывая к самому Солнцу, парили самые удивительные пернатые — синептицы и жар-птицы, гуси-лебеди и загагары, жуёвишки и змушки, сиричи и моричи, носильщики и чистильщики, пальмеры и осоеды, стерхи и самрук, горланусы и многие другие.

И послал Некто другого помощника своего, имя ему Ксандр. И сеял Ксандр ласку и счастье, и хлопнул в ладоши звонко, и сбежались тут к нему новые создания — первые грызуны, мыши благого Ксандра. И пошли от первых грызунов валькирии, огнехвосты, виверры, селевинии, тушканы и другие, не менее забавные пушистики.

В лесах и на полях же наземных теперь водилось много всякой интересной живности — прародители быков скатуры, а также носохваты, папонты, бананоеды, ночные мангусты, дромадэры, табиры, хряковепри, черепахи, косожоры, кролы, грациозные лани, кони и единороги, и никто не был друг другу врагом, никто никогда никого не ел, потому что всё живое в Фантазии питалось особою волшебною росой, которую эльваны собирали и запасали.

И резвились на приятном телу солнцепёке пегие барсы, красные пантеры, сумчатые парды с бородкой на нижней челюсти и миуки.

Многочисленные водоёмы и их предивные берега стали пристанищем и обителью для гидр, нофилусов, хамелеонов, лаггерхэдов, амфибианов, гекконов, голотурий, кваков, китов, гребневиков, офиур, кораллов, жаброногов, морских коней и морских звёзд, раков, креветок, омаров, весёлых крабиков, моржей, морских коров и многих других маринелл.

И когда пел Некто, шумел ветер; когда плакал — шёл дождь. И бризом лёгким был ветер, и дождь радовал глаз.

И глядел Некто, и радовался. И нарёк Некто детище своё «Фантазия», ибо родилась Фантазия из самых сокровенных и глубоких дум и мечтаний своего Творца.

Chapter 1. Creation of Fantasia

In the beginning was the Essence. And everywhere there was nothing, only empty space. Then the Essence stretched out its hand in front, and blew off the semblance of dust from its. Taking off ahead and slightly up, the particles began to slowly settle. Some suddenly lit up like sparks and rushed up somewhere upward again, to the Essence that gave birth to them. Others, ceasing to fall into oblivion, began to layered on each other, until each of them turned into a sphere slowly rotating around its axis.

The first particles inflamed more and more, gradually increasing in size, and thanks to their common efforts, darkness was scattered around them. So the light came.

And saw the Essence, that her creatures are beautiful, and her heart exulted.

Then the Essence chose one of the trillions of sparks, the most beautiful, and moved the best of all spheres towards it. And the Essence thought suddenly, and went to bed.

From the touch of the Essence, the orb tilted slightly, but it did not stop rotating. Later this phenomenon will be called the change of seasons, but this is still very far away.

Resurrected from sleep, the Essence doused its most favorite balloon with steam from its breath, and now, from now on, it was full of moisture. The giant ocean, the cradle of a lifetime.

But the bowels of the orb raged inside, and the land appeared on the surface, first in the form of a flat rectangular figure. Both land and water came into opposition, and mountains and valleys were formed.

And it happened that the light of the day could not keep pace with the orb evenly. Thus, the seasons appeared, and their names are winter, spring, summer and autumn.

Suddenly, the Essence sneezed inadvertently, and a small piece of it broke away from the orb. Then the Essence wanted to shake it off into oblivion, but took pity, for he preferred to create, not destroy. And she lit this round stone from the Sun, like a candle from a candle, and ordered it to shine at night so that all future animals would not be so scared to wander at night. So the moon shone.

The Essence tore one hair from the head and carefully thrust it into the orb. It became the first plant on earth; the first and largest tree, and its fruits were beautiful in taste.

But the land was lifeless, and the Essence dipped its palms into the ocean. Then something stirred inside. Hundreds of millions of tiny living creatures began to spin in a semblance of dance, and oxygen began to dominate.

From that first tree came all the rest, a variety of plants in water and on the ground. And the land became more beautiful; more beautiful than before.

And the spirit of the Essence, later called the wind, was in the air. And the wind carried the seeds of plants all over the orb. Flowers were pollinated by wind helpers — hummers and talkers, ornithopters and giant moths, urkers and winged fairies, diesels and bumblebees. And the flora on the earth multiplied in abundance. And they began to bloom and bear sweetaste, edible tums, rootberries, raspberries, roses, lilacs, violets, fructis, daffodils, kelp, godgifts, water lilies, acidics and other equally beautiful plants. Willows and birches, oaks and beeches, firs and pines, chestnuts and aromas, ginkgo and yucca, cocco palms and phenigg palms, aspen trees and ash trees, healing trees and earthen trees were now everywhere. And how pleasant was all this smell, how much everything was fragrant!

Then assistants of the Essence descended in order to create larger animals, as well as those who would look after all creatures on earth.

Of all the new living creatures, the first to come to this region were the bright elvans, beautiful as life itself; Lanny is their kingdom. Divine and majestic was their appearance, and now no one has become like them in beauty and nobility. The elvans loved nature, loved to sing and glorify those who created them; Those whose names have long been forgotten. The elvans invented boats for crossing water obstacles, and also invented rope, bow and arrows. Initially, the bow and arrows were not intended for war, but for the game «hit the target» in order to develop visual acuity. Not for war, because the earth will be painted with blood much later ...

The Holy Spirit spawned etherials — invisible streams that bring healing to all those who are worthy of it.

The most amazing birds flew over the mountains and valleys — bluebirds and firebirds, geese-swans and gagarra, slurp birds and shaggy birds, sirics and morics, porter birds and cleaning birds, palm birds and wasp-eaters, sterches and Samruk, gorlanus and many others. They often flew up to the Sun itself for a while.

And sent the Essence of another assistant, his name Xander. Xander gave caress and happiness, and when he once loudly clapped his hands, new creatures immediately rushed to him — the first rodents, mice of good Xander. Valkyries, firetails, wyverres, selevinies, tushkans and other funny fluffy ones, come from the first rodents.

In the forests and in the fields of the ground, there were a lot of interesting animals — the progenitors of the bulls of the great aurochs, as well as noseholders, paponts, banana eaters, night ichneumons, dromaders, thabyrs, wildboars, turtles, worry eaters, rabbits, graceful deer, horses and unicorns, and no one was not an enemy to each other, no one had ever eaten anyone, because all living things in the Fantasia were fed by a special magical dew, which the elvans collected and stored.

And piebald irbises, red panthers, marsupial parduses frolicked in the sun. These animals enjoyed every ray of heat falling on their skins.

Numerous reservoirs and their marvelous shores have become housing for frihydras, nautiluses, chameleons, loggerheads, amphibians, geckos, holothurians, kwaks, whales, ctenophores, brittle stars, corals, gillfoots, sea horses and sea stars, crayfish, shrimps, lobsters, funny crabs, walruses, sea cows and many other water creatures.

And when the Essence sang, the wind rustled; when crying it was raining. And the breeze was light wind, and the rain was pleasing to the eye.

And looked the Essence, and rejoiced. And the Essence has called the brainchild its «Fantasia», for Fantasia was born from the most secret and profound thoughts and dreams of the Essence.
